Police on Friday released surveillance video of the man they believe fatally shot a Bronx mother through her apartment door’s peephole.
The surveillance video, taken in the hallway of victim Wendy Martinez’s Grand Concourse apartment building on Saturday night, shows the masked assassin walking in with a rain-soaked umbrella.
Despite the 45-degree weather, the man’s face and head are covered with a ski-mask, baseball cap and a hoodie, officials said.
The man walked up to Martinez’s door twice before the shooting, officials said.
Police released the video in the hopes that someone recognizes the suspect, who ran out of the building after firing through Martinez’s front door, killing the 45-year-old mom.
Martinez had stopped her 15-year-old son from answering the door when the killer rang, a close family friend told the Daily News.
The teen, Alexander Angulo, remains “devastated,” relatives said.
Sources told The News the shooter was likely after Martinez’s elder son Brian Solano, 25, who was charged with murder in a December 2014 gang-related shooting.
Victim Willie Lora, 21, was the brother of a high-ranking member of the Trinitarios gang, according to sources.
After three years on Rikers Island awaiting trial and a brief stint in an upstate prison, Solano was released without bail last October after controversial private investigator Manuel Gomez came up with new evidence that witnesses had allegedly been coerced by investigators to say Solano was the shooter.
Relatives hope to bury Martinez in her native Dominican Republic next week.
The gunman is believed to be in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark colored baseball cap, grey sneakers and dark sweatpants with a Miami Heat basketball logo on the left leg.
