Cops bust Bronx man in sex abuse and assault of woman, 82, at Lower East Side housing project

A Bronx man was arrested Friday in the groping of an 82-year-old woman in a Manhattan housing project, police said.

David Alexander, 29, of Mott Haven, faces charges of felony assault, burglary, sex abuse and restriction of breathing, said cops.

Investigators found pictures of the incident on Alexander’s phone, said a police source.

He’s accused of walking into the victim’s unlocked apartment in the Rutgers Houses on the Lower East Side at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, said police.

Alexander allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck, groped one of her breasts and started touching his genitals, said cops.

Alexander was busted with help from a tip by someone who saw his picture, which was taken from surveillance cameras and distributed to the media, said police sources.
