A creepy con man swindled a Bronx grandmother out of $2,000 by claiming he was a police officer, cops said Friday.
The greedy grifter called the 73-year-old victim at 12:30 p.m. on June 11 and said she needed to give him cash to bail out her grandson, who was arrested, authorities said.
The septuagenarian gave the huckster the cash when he showed up at her Mott Haven apartment and he took off his a white van, police said.
The cash collector and the caller remain at large. It is not clear if they are one in the same.
