Rapper CL is teaming up with Lyft, one of the largest ride-sharing services, and the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA)to promote safe transportation for members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. This comes at a time when many Asians are suffering from an increase of racism and attacks due to COVID-19.
Lyft is hoping to help the most vulnerable members of the AAPI community, particularly the elderly, by offering safer transportation options by partnering with various non-profit organizations, such as NAPCA. Together, they are introducing a credit program which will give individuals discounted or free rides. Those who wish to participate will be able to do so through a promo code.
Recently, US President Joe Biden announced that Lyft and Uber would be providing free transportation to vaccination sites in order to increase Americans’ immunizations to at least 70%. This offer is available from May 24 to July 4.
