A young California mother was arrested Tuesday for fatally running over her infant daughter and injuring her boyfriend after arguing with him.

Sarah Gomez, 19, and her boyfriend left a family gathering when they started arguing earlier in the day, Ontario police said.

Gomez was driving home when her boyfriend, 21, got out of the car and took the baby with him.

She then intentionally struck him while he carried their 7-month-old daughter, authorities said.

Authorities say the pair had been drinking at the gathering.

Relatives took the father and baby girl to the hospital where she later died. He had minor injuries.

Gomez faces murder and attempted murder charges. She was being held on $1 million bail Tuesday.
