When Cyber Monday comes around, it’s easy to get swept up in the sales and end up buying something you don’t actually want or need.
While most e-commerce sites now have lenient return policies, that’s not always the case and doesn’t make the actual process of returning products any easier. We suggest going into Cyber Monday with a plan and also be on the lookout for things you should, or shouldn’t, actually buy.
Here are the products we recommend jumping on while you can and others that we think aren’t worth it.
- Trending Toys
We frequently see great deals on toys for Cyber Monday but that’s not the only reason why we recommend picking up the season’s hottest toys early. Last year we saw almost all the most popular toys sell out well before Christmas.
TVs are really where Cyber Monday began and the tradition of fantastically low prices for these electronics holds true today. We suggest compiling the features (size, picture quality, etc.) you want in a new TV before shopping so you know exactly what to look for.
- Name brand kitchen appliances
- Amazon and Google products
Amazon will take advantage of every opportunity to sell their devices at lower prices and we’ve already seen plenty of great deals on them. Walmart didn’t want to miss out on the fun so they typically sell Google’s smart home devices at similar prices.
- Holiday decor/products
Most e-commerce companies know that the majority of shoppers are on the prowl for good holiday decor on sale for Cyber Monday so they typically offer it at a small discount to tempt people. But these prices will plummet closer to the end of December so we suggest waiting.
- Deals that are too good to be true on brands you don’t recognize
We’ve seen a huge uptick in the number of deals offered by e-commerce stores over this weekend but unfortunately a lot of them are on products we wouldn’t recommend. Even if you see a great price on a product with lots of five-star reviews, be wary. Many times a product with no brand recognition will pay for reviews and isn’t actually high quality. Check our review pages to make sure what you’re getting is worth it.
