A Brooklyn middle school principal is accused of assaulting one of his students during a fight Wednesday in the cafeteria, police said.

Derrande Moore, 42, an assistant principal at Gladstone H. Atwell Middle School in Crown Heights, was arrested and charged with assault and child endangerment.

Police say Moore attacked a 13-year-old boy during a cafeteria fight on Jan. 29. It’s not clear if the boy was injured.

He awaits arraignment in Brooklyn criminal court.

Moore, who’s worked for the city Education Department since 2001, became an assistant principal at the school in 2013, officials said. His salary is $124, 678.

“This alleged behavior is extremely disturbing, and Mr. Moore was immediately reassigned away from students pending the outcome of the criminal investigation,” Education Department spokesman Doug Cohen said.

Atwell Middle School made headlines in March 2016, when a 14-year-old student brought a 9-mm. pistol and two magazines of ammo into the school in his backpack.
