Braves continue to show displeasure with Jose Bautista after bat flip

The Atlanta Braves really aren’t fans of Jose Bautista.

The Blue Jays slugger prompted some benches-clearing drama after an uncalled-for bat flip in a lopsided affair Wednesday night, along with a staredown of Braves pitcher Eric O’Flaherty.

Jace Peterson, who jawed at Bautista as he rounded first base, made his feelings known as he was seen before Thursday’s game signing a photoshopped poster of Peterson punching Bautista.

The original shot, of course, referred back to the Rangers’ Rougned Odor punching Bautista during a 2016 contest – something O’Flaherty thought the Toronto outfielder would still remember.

“I’m surprised he’s ready to fight again after last year,” the reliever quipped Wednesday night.

As far as in-game retaliation, Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran wasted no time in sending a message, drilling Bautista in the hip with a first-inning fastball. Both benches were warned by the umpiring crew following the hit-by-pitch.
