Boy Scouts struck by vehicle on Long Island: police

Suffolk County police say five Boy Scouts were hospitalized after the vehicle “struck several of them.”

MANORVILLE, N.Y. — A group of Boy Scouts were injured when they were struck by a vehicle while walking along a roadway on Long Island.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Sunday on David Terry Road in Manorville.




Suffolk County police say five Boy Scouts were hospitalized after the vehicle “struck several of them.”

The ages and conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

A witness told Newsday the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
