A woman whose body was found in a suitcase in a wooded area of Connecticut on Tuesday has been identified as a 24-year-old New York resident who went missing last week.
Cops say Valerie Reyes of New Rochelle was last seen on Jan. 29. She was reported missing after she did not show up for work.
Her body was found along a road in Greenwich, about 10 miles from New Rochelle. Her hands and feet were bound.
Reyes’ family was notified on Wednesday night.
“They are obviously devastated by the loss of Valerie and our heartfelt condolences go out to them,” Greenwich police said.
Greenwich cops added in a statement to the Hartford Courant that it is continuing to work with New Rochelle police and other agencies “at multiple levels.”
“The Greenwich Police Department is dedicated to identifying those responsible for the death of Valerie and ensuring justice for her and her family,” cops said.
