A Giant loss is Baker Mayfield and the Browns’ gain.
The popular quarterback wasted no time sharing his giddiness over the Tuesday night blockbuster that sent Beckham to Cleveland in exchange for a first-rounder, third-rounder and 2017 first-round pick, safety Jabrill Peppers.
No words were needed.
Mayfield posted an old photo of he, Beckham Jr, and Jarvis Landry to his Instagram with a zipper mouth emoji as the caption. That trio is expected to light up the NFL this coming season after Landry and Mayfield restored hope in Cleveland the season ago when the franchise went 7-8-1.
Beckham and Landry, longtime buddies, of course spent their college days at LSU half a decade ago and now get the chance to reunite at the professional level. Mayfield threw for 27 touchdowns last season, an integer expected to grow with that deadly wide out combination in his corner.
Mayfield and Beckham developed a rapport even before the signal-caller’s first year in the league. Back in January 2018, Mayfield posted a shot of he and OBJ with the caption “MMO,” which is believed to mean ‘money making opportunities.’
