For months into years, trial court into appeal, Mayor de Blasio fought to hide from reporters his emails with media guru Jonathan Rosen, locking them away on the preposterous ruse that Rosen and other outside advisers served as “agents of the city.”
His hand now forced open by three appellate judges, the mayor is revealed to have been hiding from the journalists an unvarnished record of his personal contempt for . . . journalists.
Our sin? Insufficient fealty to Hizzoner’s scripted story of triumph and transcendence.
“I think this is disgusting . . . entirely biased,” he said of a Times article that suggested (as this Editorial Board has) that ambitious plans to boost student achievement might not pan out.
Commenting after the Daily News called out his absence from the scene after a firefighter got shot: ” This is always an attack on us and what we represent . . . they will never defeat us.”
On speculation that year the Daily News might be sold and go online-only (not so fast): “And that would be good for us, right?”
