Aziz Ansari has scheduled his first stand-up tour since being accused of sexual misconduct.
The comedian will make stops in a number of cities for in 2019, beginning in February in Boston, he announced on social media.
“See ya on the road ding dongs,” Ansari tweeted.
Ansari has kept a low-profile since Babe.net published an article in January in which a 23-year-old woman claimed the comedian pressured her into engaging in multiple sexual acts. The woman, who went by Grace in the report, contended Ansari did not respond to her verbal and non-verbal cues that suggested she was uncomfortable.
The report garnered a mixed response, with some critics contending it was an example of a bad date but not sexual misconduct.
Ansari, 35, released a statement after the report emerged to say he believed their encounter was consenual.
“The next day, I got a text from her saying that although ‘it may have seemed okay,’ upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable,” Ansari’s statement read. “It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.”
