Attempted rapist attacks Brooklyn woman in her home, flees after she punches him in groin

Police are searching for the man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in Greenpoint (NYPD)

Police released photos of a would-be rapist who assaulted a woman in her Brooklyn home.

At around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, a man knocked on the door of a 37-year-old woman’s home near Meeker and Kingsland Aves. in Greenpoint asking for “Jeffrey.”

When the woman opened the door, the attacker forced his way inside and pushed the victim into her bedroom, claiming to have a knife in his bag.

When he demanded that she perform a sex act on him, the woman punched him in the groin and tried to escape the apartment.

The attacker then tackled her and tried to remove her dress, which was when the woman screamed and cut her head on a door.

The man then fled the scene. The victim was treated for injuries at Woodhull Hospital.

The attacker is described as a black man about 6-feet-2 and of average build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black short-sleeved shirt, beige pants and black shoes.
