Ariana Grande shared a simple message on what would’ve been her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller’s 27th birthday.
“miss u,” the singer tweeted early Saturday morning.
Miller died on Sept. 7, with authorities saying he had a mix of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol in his system at the time. His death was determined by officials to be an accident.
The hip hop artist and Grande dated for nearly two years before she confirmed their breakup last May.
Grande, 25, has shared multiple tributes to Miller on social media since his death, including posting a photo to Instagram a day after he died, and sharing a video of him the following week.
“i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will,” she captioned that video. “i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
Miller — whose real name was Malcolm McCormick — was nominated for his first Grammy last month. He’s up for best rap album for “Swimming,” which he released in August, at next month’s award show.
A number of stars paid tribute to Miller on Saturday, including singer Kehlani, who wrote in a tweet, “love you mac!!! happy birthday doode.”
Hip hop artist Juicy J, meanwhile, tweeted a link to a song he collaborated with Miller on.
