A 37-year-old woman and two young girls were found shot to death in an upscale Texas home early Thursday morning.
Amid the well-manicured grounds and lavish estates in the gated development in Boerne, Bexar County sheriff’s officials dealt with the grisly bloodshed.
Another person living at the residence in Anaqua Springs Ranch discovered their bodies when he returned home early Thursday.
The woman was identified as Nichol Olsen, reported San Antonio TV station KSAT.
Authorities pronounced all three dead at the scene. Each had suffered gunshot wounds to their upper torsos, and Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the women were related to one another but would not specify.
Salazar said the two young girls appeared to be “victims of foul play” and that their apparent manner of death was homicide. The woman’s manner of death has yet to be determined.
“It’s just too early to tell on the third person if that is a murder or a suicide,” said Salazar. “We’ll let the medical examiner take a look at it.”
The man who discovered the bodies told authorities he was sleeping at another location the night prior to the shootings, although Salazar didn’t detail why. Homicide detectives were questioning the man about what may have led to the killings.
“It’s just a shocking thing that you would never expect to happen here,” said neighbor Laura Rendon. “It’s a very peaceful, quiet neighborhood and nothing like this has ever happened before.”
