Two Bronx gang members charged with murder for shooting death of 27-year-old man : cops

Two Bronx gang members with long rap sheets have been arrested for murder for the shooting death of a 27-year-old man last month, police said Monday.

Lucas Chajecki, 23, and Gary Ortiz, 31, were arrested Saturday for the slaying of Israel Lagares on Bainbridge Ave. near E. 196th St. in Fordham on Aug. 16, cops said.

Chajecki was a member of the infamous Trinitarios gang and Ortiz was a Crips member, according to police sources.

Lagares, who was shot multiple times, was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital but couldn’t be saved.

Both Chajecki and Ortiz have a history of serious criminal activity.

Chajecki has 11 prior arrests including for the attempted murder of 19-year-old Martin Hidalgo on Feb. 22, 2019. Ortiz has 14 prior arrests including for bribing a cop in 2015, when he allegedly offered an official money to let him go free.

Lagares had one prior arrest for drug possession.
