Three people killed, cop injured in Florida shooting over ‘dangerous’ dog

An argument about a neighborhood dog left three people, including a 13-year-old girl, dead in Florida.

The owner of the dog, which had been declared “dangerous” Monday after it allegedly attacked another neighbor in April, went to “confront” neighbors in Port St. Lucie, Richard Del Toro, assistant chief with the Port St. Lucie police, told TCPalm.

Police responded to a 911 call from a young girl, assumed to be the teenager, who said someone was shooting at her parents, according to officials.

Police and the alleged shooter exchanged gunfire and he was found dead, but it’s unclear if he was shot by police or by a self-inflicted gunshot.

The 13-year-old girl died later at the hospital and another adult man also died. Their relationship is unknown.

None of the three have been identified.

A police officer was injured in the incident and his condition is unclear.
