SEE IT: Video shows dancing J’Ouvert reveler getting rammed by car - and surviving
Shocking video shows moment man dancing in street during J’Ouvert is hit by car.
He danced with death and escaped with his life.
A shocking video captures the moment a J’Ouvert reveler was mowed down by a car as he danced in the middle of a Brooklyn street Monday. And not only did he survive the brutal hit, but he refused medical attention, cops said Wednesday.
The 23-year-old black-clad dancer, wrapped in what appears to be the Jamaican flag, was showing off his moves on E. 80th St. by Paerdegat 12th St. just after 3 a.m. Monday, when a 2005 Honda barreled into him from behind.
The impact shocked onlookers, who screamed in horror as he rolled up and over the sedan.
The 41-year-old driver remained on the scene, and moments later, a second video shows, the victim lay on the ground, his hands behind his head, talking to a crowd gathered around him.
A police spokeswoman described the victim, whose name has not been released, as “highly uncooperative.” Cops have made no arrests in the case, the spokeswoman said.
The scene unfolded just a few hours after the annual pre-dawn J’Ouvert festivities in Brooklyn, which takes place before the New York Caribbean Carnival Parade in Crown Heights.
