SEE IT: Passenger gets stuck in bathroom on United Airlines flight, forcing unscheduled landing

It's the one time you don't want to be stuck on the throne.

A United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to San Francisco was diverted to Denver on Wednesday night when a passenger got trapped in the bathroom.

Video posted on Twitter showed a group of people attempting to get the lavatory door open with the woman inside, but without success. It was not clear what caused the door to be stuck.

Passenger Jennifer Gettman describes what happened

“‘And of course we’re not going to make her stay in the bathroom until San Francisco,'” the pilot announced, passenger Jennifer Gettman told CBS in San Francisco.

Firefighters boarded the plane in Denver and were able to get the woman out of the bathroom.

“Everyone clapped, the woman came out, and they all felt very bad for her," Gettman told CBS. “And she was safe, so that’s good.”
