SEE IT: Christie Brinkley posts hospital photos to ‘stand up for truth’ after ‘conspiracy theorists’ say she faked ‘DWTS’ injury

2019-09-29

Christie Brinkley isn’t taking the recent “Dancing” rumors lying down.

The supermodel, 65, posted several photos on Instagram Friday to dispel theories she faked her “Dancing with the Stars” injury to give 21-year-old daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, also a model, her slot on the reality competition.

It goes against my better judgement to acknowledge haters and conspiracy theorists but because this involves my precious daughter I’m setting the record straight. It’s sad that we live in a time where the truth is not as scintillating as hurtful lies. If it was just me I would have let this roll right off my back, but on #nationaldaughtersday I feel it’s the perfect opportunity to stand up for truth. Thank you for being such an amazing daughter @sailorbrinkleycook for overcoming your fears to step in I’m so proud of you ! But I STILL want my favorite jeans back !

“It goes against my better judgement to acknowledge haters and conspiracy theorists but this involves my precious daughter,” Brinkley captioned photos of her injured arm and wrist, as well as several shots of her at the hospital. “I’m setting the record straight. It’s sad that we live in a time where the truth is not as scintillating as hurtful lies.”

Brinkley’s post also included multiple photos of X-rays depicting her injuries.

Prior to the “DWTS” season premiere, Brinkley tripped over dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy’s foot, leaving her “unable to continue her planned participation of the show,” network ABC tweeted.

On the premiere of Wendy Williams’ show, the daytime host said the injury looked “fake as hell.” She accused Brinkley of having “signed up for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ knowing that she’d put her daughter Sailor in there.”

On Monday, Brinkley-Cook defended her mother, suggesting “whoever spews hatred needs more love. So love you, Wendy!”
