New season. New baby. New storyline.
A little over a month before the 12th season of Bravo’s top-rated reality series “Real Housewives of Atlanta” kicks off, one of the Andy Cohen-produced show’s biggest stars is expecting.
Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker are expecting another child, this time via surrogate.
The new baby will join the couple’s youngest child, 3-year-old Ace Wells, as well as Burruss’ 16-year-old daughter Riley; and Tucker’s 22-year old daughter Kaela, from a previous relationship.
According to People, Burruss made the decision to have a baby via surrogate last year when she revealed to her show costars that if she got pregnant, it would be high-risk.
The 43-year-old Atlanta area native also revealed she had a long history of fibroids — noncancerous growths — in her uterus, which only would only add to the complications of carrying a baby.
The former X-Scape singer met Tucker while he served as a line producer of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and after making their relationship public, the couple married in 2014.
Their journey with the surrogate will reportedly be documented on “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” which returns Nov. 3.
