Princess Beatrice, daughter of embattled Prince Andrew, engaged to tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

There’s another royal wedding on the horizon.

Princess Beatrice of York announced her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Wednesday.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness,” the couple said in a statement.

Beatrice, 31, is the first cousin of Prince Harry and Prince William, and is ninth in line for the throne of England. She and property tycoon Mapelli Mozzi, 36, became engaged earlier this month while away for a weekend in Italy, and will marry in 2020.

“We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family,” Beatrice’s parents, the Duke, Prince Andrew and Duchess Sarah said in a statement.

The couple’s engagement follows just a month after Andrew denied having sex with Virginia Giuffre, who accused late Jeffrey Epstein of forcing her to have sex with the royal when she was a teenager. Andrew denied having sex with any of the women that were abused by Epstein, and says he did not witness anything criminal during visits with the multi-millionaire.

Mapelli Mozzi shared his own post on Instagram to celebrate the couple’s engagement.

“You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever,” the caption read with four black-and-white photos of the couple.

Nikki Williams-Ellis and Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, the real estate tycoon’s parents, said they “are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice’s engagement.”

“Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship," they said in a statement.
