One man was killed and another was clinging to life at the hospital Friday night after a shooting at a Queens public housing complex, cops said.
Police responding to a neighbor’s 911 call about an assault found the two victims lying in the courtyard of the Beach 41st St. Houses near Beach Channel Drive in Edgemere around 8 p.m., cops said.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the head and an 18 year-old man, James Scott, was shot in the chest and legs, police said.
Medics rushed Scott, of Rockaway Park, to Saint John’s Episcopal Hospital but he could not be saved. The second victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition.
One neighbor heard the gunshots from her window and came downstairs to find a bloody scene.
“I heard like six shots. When I came down here I saw the boy on the floor. He was bleeding a lot. He already looked dead," said Tulem Romero, who has lived in the neighborhood for five years.
A woman believed to be Scott’s mother cried out in agony upon seeing his lifeless body on the ground.
“She was crying and screaming. It was terrible. The police took her. It was awful," Romero, 40, said.
No arrests have been made.
