Rachel Ruit, the North Carolina woman caught at least twice spewing racist invective on video who days later would be struck by a fire truck, has died from her injuries.

The Asheville Police Department confirmed Ruit died on Tuesday, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times.

The 41-year-old victim was severely injured on Monday when she was hit by the vehicle while crossing a street in West Asheville, N.C., according to witnesses at the time.

“I just witnessed the same lady from that video accidentally step into traffic on Patton Avenue, going toward downtown Asheville, as she was walking with traffic coming from behind her,” wrote witness Jonathan Rowell Monday on a Facebook post.

Ruit received national attention for several recordings in which she hurls racially demeaning epithets at minorities.

In a July 1 recording posted on social media, Ruit is shown sitting on a park bench while shouting at an African-American woman.

“I hate n------ and I f------ hate n------ loving whores like you, you f------ n------ child,” Ruit screeches in the profanity-laced recording. “Now, let me see y’all t------ so I can f--- you in the a--, b----!”

“You gonna hit me?” asks the woman recording the video.

Ruit continues berating the woman before asking her to perform a sex act on her.

On July 4, Ruit was arrested after an alleged assault of a woman wearing a hijab.

“Less than two hours ago, white supremacist Rachel Ruit ripped my hijab off, bit my face and beat a black teen after yelling racial slurs, tweeted Nahlah Karimah.

Ernesta Clark overheard Ruit ridiculing a black teen, telling her she ought to be “put down” and that she would be raped if she tried protecting herself. After witnessing Ruit grab the woman’s crotch, she intervened.

“As I got close, I saw the woman attack (Karimah) and pull off the hijab,” Carter told the Citizen-Times. “Pepper spray started flying.”

Ruit was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree trespass, according to the Citizen-Times.
