Climate strikers descended on lower Manhattan Friday morning, shutting down city streets as they marched from Foley Square to Battery Park.
City officials said Chambers St. was closed and Centre St. on both sides of Foley Square was closed for several blocks.
Aerial video shows perhaps tens of thousands of protesters filling the streets and they begin their march downtown with activist Greta Thunberg leading the way.

The march remained largely peaceful and police hadn’t reported any arrests by the early afternoon.
