Man sets cop car on fire in front of Supreme Court, taken to hospital with severe burns

He was courting trouble.

A Washington, D.C., man set a police car on fire outside the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday but accidentally burned himself in addition to the car, the Washington Examiner reported.

A passerby posted video of the fire to Twitter.

The unidentified man was transported to a local hospital, according to the Examiner. His condition is unknown.

The man poured so much accelerant liquid on the cop car that the fire spread to a neighboring vehicle, local NBC affiliate WRC reported.

Firefighters put the fire out around 2 p.m., officials said.
