A man was brutally beaten and required surgery after he refused to share his cellphone with several men outside a Bronx bodega, police said.
Cops on Saturday released surveillance images of the four suspects in the June 22 mugging.
The 28-year-old victim was leaving the Alex Grocery and Deli on Willis Ave. near E. 148th St. in Mott Haven around 11 a.m. when the four young men stopped him at the door and asked if they could use his Apple SX Max phone, cops said.
When the victim refused, the crew punched him several times then ran off with his phone, police said.
Medics took the victim to Lincoln Medical Center where he needed surgery for his facial injuries.
“I’m recovering fast,” the victim said when reached at home Saturday, declining to share his name.
One of the suspects in the robbery had facial tattoos and a brace on his left hand at the time of the attack, officials said.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
