Kevin Hart is ‘doing very well,’ says friend and co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joked about friend Kevin Hart’s recovery following a car accident in which the comedian suffered numerous injuries, including to his back, during the premiere episode of Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show Monday.

“Everything is good,” the actor said of his “Jumanji” co-star. Johnson left his honeymoon early in order to fill in for Hart who was the passenger in a car that rolled down an embankment on a California highway in the early hours of Sept. 1.

Johnson kept the Hart-related portion of the interview lighthearted, even getting in a few jokes about Hart’s size and having to see a “pediatrician.”

“I spoke with Kevin – I actually refer to him as my son – I connected with him today. And you know what? These things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat,” the actor said.

“Honestly, I mean, thank God, it could’ve been a lot worse,” he added, “So, he’s a lucky man… and he knows it too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery and I’m gonna see him soon.”

Actress Tiffany Haddish reported Sunday that Hart was already walking despite his injuries.
