Kanye West debuted new music from his forthcoming album “Jesus Is King” during a free show in Detroit.
West announced a surprise show at the city’s Fox Theater after a scheduled Sunday Service tour stop.
Crowds immediately began lining up for a chance to get the free tickets to what was dubbed “Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience” on the theater’s marquee.
The event eventually became a listening party for the record, according to tweets from XXL Magazine.

“Jesus Is King” is West’s first album since 2018's “Ye,” and was expected to be released at midnight, but West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West threw cold water on those rumors in a social media post.
“He’s dropping the album Sunday” after listening sessions in Chicago and New York," Kardashian West said, according to Complex Music.
