A 56-year-old Orlando, Fla., man using a walker was fatally struck by a pair of vehicles after being released from a central Florida hospital shorty after midnight Tuesday.
Albert Herbert has just been discharged from AdventHealth Kissimmee for an undisclosed treatment when he was hit by a Chrysler van being operated by an 80-year-old driver, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Herbert, who’d reportedly attempted to cross the southbound lane of Orange Blossom Trail, was sent careening into the northbound lane, where police say he was struck by a second vehicle. That’s automobile’s driver did not stop. Florida Highway Patrol is searching for that hit and run motorist.
Herbert was pronounced dead on the scene. Click Orlando reports that the man driving the 5-year-old van that hit Herbert when he walked into its path was not injured.
