Don’t tell him to quit smoking!
A slash-happy straphanger stunk up a Manhattan subway car with his cigarette smoke, then sliced two fellow commuters who asked him to snuff it out, police said.
The 57-year-old smoker was riding a southbound A train approaching the Canal St. station just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when two men, ages 67 and 49, approached him and asked him to stop, police said.
He responded by pulling out a foldable box cutter, cops said, slashing the younger man on the forehead and the older man on the ankle. Police arrested him shortly after.
Both victims went to Bellevue Medical Center with non life-threatening wounds.
Charges against the man are pending, and police haven’t yet released his name.
Southbound A train service skipped the Canal St. station as police investigated.
