A 14-year-old boy walking his dog in upper Manhattan tried to fight off a mugger after his gold chain - only to have his hand bitten by the crazed crook, police said Tuesday.
Cops on Tuesday released surveillance images of the toothy robber in the hopes that someone recognizes him.
The victim was walking his small pooch along W. 205th St. near Ninth Ave. in Inwood when the mugger crept up behind him and tried to rip the chain off the teen’s neck.
When the boy resisted, the crook chomped down on the victim’s right hand, leaving a bloody cut. He ran off with the victim’s chain down 10th Ave. and has not been caught.
Medics took the teen to an area hospital, where he was treated for a minor wound.
The suspect is described as black and in his early 20s with short black dreadlocks. He was wearing a white tank top, black shorts and black sandals.
Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
