Bronx pedestrian killed by speeding hit-and-run driver

A 51-year-old man crossing a Bronx street was killed by a speeding hit-and-run driver early Tuesday, police said.

Ramon Martinez was crossing E. Tremont Ave. in the crosswalk at Prospect Ave. in Crotona when a sedan speeding west struck him about 1:20 a.m., cops said.

Medics rushed the victim, found lying in the street with severe body trauma, to St. Barnabas Hospital but he could not be saved.
