A bicyclist was fatally struck by a truck in Queens Saturday, bringing the number of cyclists killed on city streets to 21 this year, authorities said.
The truck hit the victim near the Pulaski Bridge at Borden Ave. near 11th St. in Long Island City about 1:55 p.m., cops said.
The bicyclist’s name, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene, police said.
The truck driver remained on site. No charges were immediately filed.
Twenty other bicyclists have died while riding, as of Sept. 19, authorities said. That’s roughly double the amount of those killed in all of 2018, transportation advocates said.
