72-year-old New Jersey man stabbed ex-wife in attack captured on video: authorities

A 72-year-old New Jersey man repeatedly slashed and stabbed his ex-wife in a crime captured on video, authorities said Monday.

Philip Puche of Cherry Hill was arrested Sunday and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Haddon Township Police said in a statement.

Cops in Audubon Park received a call about a stabbing just after 10 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived at the intersection of Turtledove Court and Road C, they discovered a woman who suffered from multiple stab and slash wounds, officials said.

“She was able to provide Puche’s name as the name of her attacker before being taken to an area hospital,” prosecutors said in the statement.

The victim, who was not identified, remains in critical condition

Investigators found surveillance video showing the attack, authorities said. Cherry Hill police then arrested Puche.

He is currently being held in the Camden County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
